Doctor Who is a sci-fi show, but when it completely disregards proper science in favour of a "dramatic" story, it just does not make sense. The moon is...an egg? Its weight has been changing? How has the earth not been destroyed by tsunamis? Especially after it hatched? Unicellular organisms that look like spiders and move their limbs and can do stuff? That is not how unicellular organisms work?!
Dodgy science aside the plot is melodramatic as hell and the awkward handling of the pro-life stance leaves a bad taste in my mouth, much like Clara at the end of this episode.
