I’ve got no idea at all how anyone who’d listened to this Boxset could have rated this Boxset at 4/10. I really don’t.

I was very circumspect and I actually wasn’t going to buy this Boxset. But I did and I was bloody impressed! It’s magnificent.

If your after a fantastic spy/action/ James Bond style AudioDrama - don’t go anywhere else. The action is choreographed perfectly. I really wondered how they’d do that with audio and the thing is they pull it off perfectly.

I can’t wait for Vol.2. This is better then the TV series. I enjoyed it more than The Prisoner (which is also fantastic) or The Avengers. Just like Star Cops this is another great addition to the BigFinish portfolio - well done BigFinish.

Absolutely fantastic.

Pure enjoyment. The BigFinish Original series has been one of the very best things they’ve produced. And this Boxset is no exception.

Time travel with a twist. Present day mixed with Victorian sensibility. Best of all is the comedic delivery. This is one series I desperately hope gets enough support for ongoing series.

If you don’t know where to begin with this series start here, especially if ur a Jago & Litefoot fan.

I was very impressed. Big risks taken. Feels like a total reboot, just what the show needs after 10 seasons of New Who. Jodie was magnificent. Of course I still miss the wonderful Peter Capaldi but she’s done a terrific job. New show runner definitely put his mark on Dr. Who as it feels like a completely new show to me but then that’s what I’ve always loved about Dr. Who - how each Doctor marks a major shift in tone, pace, character and story. My only grumble was the sonic screwdriver story line conflicting directly with a March 2018 Main Range story (but that just shows how much of super fan I am & I definitely don’t expect the show to cater to us guys but I would hope this doesn’t happen all the time :)). Overall, I thought it was a magnificent beginning. A fantastic horror tone, lots of emotion and by goodness is it fresh!! I’m very excited to see just how far he goes. But promises that hes not going to use any existing monsters or villains - just shows how courageous he is & I really like that! After all, he did show run the highest rated UK series previously and had a big part in the highly successful Torchwood. I really think he will deliver the goods & show all those nay sayers just wrong they are!!!

This is by far my favourite BigFinish series presently. It’s sophisticated and intelligent like no other series they’ve done.

The series story arcs and character arcs are deployed with such finesse. I only wish that this level of attention was given to all their series. I adore BigFinish; however, with its expanded offering and increasing popularity some of it’s Stories are suffering. Personally I believe they’re in much need of an independent producer or top level script editor. Because as the volume of productions increased in recent years so too has the worst short coming increased - that of, too many average story lines reaching us, their fans.

And there’s absolutely no need for it.

Well, in my opinion BigFinish must remember that although they have the backing of so many incredibly devoted fans like myself. Who basically buy every single title they produce- they mustn’t take this for granted. I believe it’s now time to bring in a new story producer or a new creative director. Do that and I believe BigFinish could be better than ever. Do nothing and I believe thy begin to risk everything. For there is nothing more competitive today, then the increasing bids made by producers for our entertainment dollar. And the quality only continues to increase. ∴ I hope BigFinish will respond to this challenge. Because the truth is - when they’re on their game they’re magnificent. Truly magnificent.

Anyhow, back to Gallifrey.

This is a series that has absolutely none of these problems. It’s incredibly clever. The stories are so alive. Political theatre that would make even Shakespeare appalause. The pace is forever moving. The twists never obvious and the characters wonderfully three dimensional. Romana is never the whining girl we too often saw on television and in the 4th Doctor Adventures. No. She is strong, forthright, a true commander in-chief. And Narvan, well, he’s devious and yet devoted. No one is cartoon evil or wholier than now. It is one of the, if not the, most impressive story telling I’ve experienced this year. That includes fiction, radio, television and cinema.

If you enjoy wicked machinations and desire to learn more about the mysterious Time Lords, well, your going to have the time of your life.
