After the last adventure, the Doctor and Mrs. Wibbsey find themselves in a cave with a boy calling himself Aladdin in a tale quite literally out of Arabian Nights-narrator and all. The story is full of imagination and fun as the Doctor find themselves in a strange land inside an egg and many people familiar from the last two adventures find themselves quite changed inside this world.

The story is a clever tale that also manages to pay loving tribute to Arabian Nights with a lot of very fun twists and a good chance for Tom Baker to show his playful side, and shows the softer side of Mrs. Wibbsey. Just a very good story overall.

A surreal and slightly fourth-wall-ish story. Paul Magrs has a feeling for beautiful language and it really comes through in this script. Sophie Ward makes for a wonderful storyteller and there is a wealth of fantastic(al) images that helps bring alive this magical tale. Probably my favourite of the BBC run of 4th Doctor adventures.
