This keeps up the standard of the outstanding The Invisible Man on all counts, and after listening to it I already couldn't wait for the release of the next title, The Shape of Things to Come. A faithful and grippingly told period sci-fi tale, this kept me looking for opportunities to extend my driving time so as not to get home too soon and have to switch it off. I now not only can't wait for the rest of this range, I've also acquired the complete collection of Wells' work (which is much more extensive than I thought) and will be working my way through it.

First Men in the Moon finds an idealistic inventor and a greedy man trying to stay one step of his creditors taking a trip to the moon, having no clue the dangers they encounter.

The characters of Bedford and Professor Cavor make an interesting contrasts: the money-hungry man who sees all the angles and the altruistic head in the cloud dreamers. The contrast leads to some good comedy and fuels the story’s social commentary. Overall, While this isn't quite as memorable as well as Wells' better known tales, it's a still a fun and well-produced adventure yarn.
