This adaptation of the Invisible Man is one of John Hurt’s final performances, and Hurt is in top form, taking a character that could have been one dimensional and playing it to the hilt. He captures the madness and tragedy of Griffin beautifully. Over the years, Big Finish has had many forays into this era and they’re expertise at capturing the feel of the late Victorian/early Edwardian era really shows as sound design and supporting cast. The production also manages to capture the horror of the Invisible Man and his actions.

If I had one complaint, it would be writer Jonathan Barnes’ ending to the framing story which seems to cut against the grain of one character. Still, it’s a relatively short moment in an otherwise stellar production.
