A MUST HEAR, DRAMATIC EPIC
One of Big Finish's Finest

This second part and finale of the Lucie Miller story considerably amps up the action and drama, building to a tense tragedy and thrilling but grim final act. The Dalek plan reveal also well illustrates the madness of Daleks and is intriguing. Features the Dalek Time Controller. Elevates the story arc to excellence and mandatory in Dalek canon --- also an example why some Big Finish plays are both successfully contiguous with classic Doctor Who as well as blazing the best trails in the modern era.

Advice to noob:
You'll want the preceding release Lucie Miller. Together, it's an original Big Finish canon great (just keep your expectations in check, it's a slow burn to the inferno)

Just superb. I relistened to this entire fourth series recently. It's a class apart, and the finale of Lucie Miller/To the Death is unsurpassed. Also has the destinction of being the only story to reduce my daughter, then 9 years old, to tears. Brilliant story-telling.

To the Death brings the Eight Doctor Adventures series to a stunning and heartbreaking close and sets up the beginning of Dark Eyes as the Doctor is hit by his oldest enemies where it hurts as the Dalek's latest insane plan to conquer the Universe proves to be fatal for some while others depart, leaving the Doctor alone. This is the story that is incredibly grim. It makes, "Earth Shock," "The Journey's End," and "A Good Man Goes to War," look like the Doctor Dances.

The story remains engaging throughout. Graeme Garden is superb as the Meddling Monk. Paul McGann's final scenes are chilling and heartbreaking and at the center of it als is Sheridan Smith, who shows why she is one of the best actresses ever cast as a Companion in any medium, as Lucie "Bleedin'" Miller has the best exit of any companion ever.

Simply put, this is a bold and brilliantly produced finale.

I daren't say much about this story and I would advise knowing as little about this story going in as you can. (Including avoiding reviews below as some have spoilers, although with appropriate warnings) The twists and turns are slight but mostly centre on the characters. Having been invested with them for so long, what they undergo in this story really packs a punch. The final 10 minutes are tear-jerking and anyone not moved by it has a heart of stone.

A fantastic end to a brilliant rage which feels so right and yet is incredibly heart-breaking.

A stand-out story that really lingers in the mind afterwards.
