Peri has become totally immersed in a virtual replication of pride and prejudice, and the Doctor has to get her out. The intro to 'A Most Excellent Match' reminds me of 'The Hitch Hicker's Guide to the Galaxy'. I didn't find this one engaging much at all and explaining things after they happen to try and generate mystery can just be confusing if not done right. Did pick up by the end, but too little too late for me, definitely the weakest of the compilation.

Peri's mind is stuck in a virtual reality simulator of a Jane Austen novel. The Doctor is trying to rescue her but there's something more sinister at work. The story does a great job blending comedy and a bit of menace to make for a very enjoyable half hour.

Doctor Who does Total Recall light heartedly - Sixth Doctor and Peri do Jane Austen.

Pride and Prejudice and Doctor Who.

It's a delight to listen to, and although the idea is frothy, the execution is brilliant.

A alternative reality stimulator and Peri being cast in to romantic fiction here gives good a worthy material and Colin and Peri make the most of this but it still lacks some polish. Could have seen this more as a 8th Doctor adventure more than anything else as it panders to that romantic characterisation that Paul does. That is not to say that this isn't bad it is just not a brilliant produced instalment
