'Recorded Time' is definitely better than 'Robots of Sherwood'. For a thirty five minute long character driven quasi-historical piece this is quite impressive. The interplay between characters is the highlight of this brief chapter. Anne Boleyn's jealousy of Peri, and Peri's attempt at relationship counselling is particularly enjoyable. The moment Six steps out of the Tardis the King mistakes him for some sort of Roy Chubby Brown impersonator apparently because of his coat. The whole thing of Henry the eighth lusting after Peri gives it a kind of a 'Carry On' vibe for me. If only this had been longer.

Recorded Time begins with the Doctor and Peri landing in England during the time of Henry VIII. At first, it seems like it's going to be a historical comedy and then takes a surprising term with a dramatic sci fi element in the Scrivener and a fascinating portrayal of Anne Bolelyn. The story is helped by a strong performance from Nicola Bryant and a very sensitive one from Colin Baker.

Nicely executed pseudo historical, with a lot of nice touches. The intriguing aspect of a stillborn romance for Doctor 6, as well as another adventure showing Peri as a feisty and proactive adventurer make this very entertaining.

Let's start with Recorded Time. This is a sixth Doctor and Peri adventure and finds our to intrepid adventurers taken back to the court of King Henry the Eight. But the King is hiding a secret he has the ability to literally write history. That is what he does so that it favours himself and his desires. Especially when it comes to his wives. What is more the King as taken to young Peri and wants her to be his next wife. Can the Doctor put right this obvious wrong and save Peri from loosing her head.....

Nice little 30 minutes of fun with Colin and Nicola putting in a wonderful performance. These little vinagarettes are perfect and well worth a listen.
