Jenny finds herself in a close-knit suburban neighborhood and fines she has partial amnesia, which is bad becuase the Ood have walled out the neighborhood and are in search with a missing prisoner and anyone who gets in their way is turned into an Ood.

This story mixes an energetic suspense plot with a modern comedy of manners. The comedy is superb. It had me laughing on multiple occasions. The author even does a bit of literal self-insertion and it's hilarious. At the same time, we're also given a mystery to solve as Jenny tries to piece together her fragmented memory. It is a good ride, it starts out slow and then really moves at a very nice pace in the second half. Overall, a very solid second story.
