There's no Science Fiction, nor is the story a historical. The Doctor and Nyssa arrive in Stockridge so the Doctor can help the local cricket team with a late-season addition, while Nyssa has the urge to write a novel about Stockridge. Nyssa falls in love, while the Doctor finds himself clashing with the rest of the Cricket team. These are simple conflicts but told beautifully. Sarah Sutton is given some of her best material as Nyssa as the story explores her finding love and exploring options she'd never considered before. The highlight of the release.

This story is just perfect. I hardly even want to talk about it. There's really not much to say. It's just perfect. I treasure stories that give us a glimpse of the time traveling life that goes beyond the usual heroic sci-fi adventure format. In my mind, this is the sort of the thing the Doctor and his friends do most of the time, while their adventures are just frequent diversions.

I don't think any story has better captured the relationship between the Doctor and Nyssa.

'Fall' is primarily a Nyssa driven story and probably the weakest of the 'Circular Time' set. With the two mains on a slow holiday of sorts like they always wanted, the Doctor is off playing Cricket while Nyssa gets involved in a serious romantic affair and writes a novel relating to it. This is a soft, kind little story that greatly depends on how much you like the characters being focused on here. If you don't have any attachment to them, then you won't be able to stand this story especially given the somewhat disposable and in my opinion obnoxious love interest. Nonetheless, this is still a very well done and calm story with major lessons and feels behind it and feels appropriate for both characters of the Doctor and Nyssa.

This the third in the quartet of stories in our release Circular Time, this one paints the idlic picture of those long drawn out days, golden sunshine, first love, lingering daydreams of rose tinted thoughts of how, or indeed what we consider to be that time in our lives. Although this acts as the bridge to the story telling, this is more a whimsy of a tale. Nothing stands out as memorable in this, however, when listening to this it is more a 30 minute exercise in the way that you can craft the language into a wonderous rhythmic stanza which plays across your mind painting a picture of the autumn of the Doctor and Nyssa's time together.
