The titular first story of the anthology finds the Doctor and Turlough landing on a planet where in order for people to survive, they must be regularly remembered and that jobs falls to the Archivist. Turlough finds the position the position thrust on him. The Doctor sets out to save the forgotten from being killed and also sort out the entire situation.

THis is an exceptionally good story as it combines high concept science fiction, with an emotional and thought-provoking idea. This story fits well with Peter Davison's Doctor as Davison to give the performance just the perfect amount of sensitivity. An absolutely solid lead off.
