The Doctor and Mel left a planet where the Doctor had brokered peace between human colonists and the mole-like indigenous species. The Doctor has a return to the planet on his bucket list and takes Ace and Mel with him 100 years later to find the planet consumed by Civil War and the metal he discovered Doctorium is to blame.

This story had some interesting ideas: The Doctor having to return to a planet where he thought everything had been settled and it had gone pear-shaped as well as the gist of the solution, although the mechanics of it are a bit convoluted. Listening to the extras, the story had gone through a lot of rewriting and been cobbled together. The result often struggles with coherency.

Characterization was off Sophia Allred said she tried to make Ace not slappable with the types of dialogue she's given and unfortunately she doesn't succeed. The story borrows heavily from the Tempest in terms of character names and quoting lines of dialogue, but it's not really clever borrowing, but feels kind of ham-fisted and random. Overall, a disappointing conclusion to a mediocre trilogy.
