This Companion Chronicle is a tie in with the Key 2 Time series in the Main Range as we learn how Zara became the selfish and ruthless character that we're introduced to in the first chapter of the Key2Time saga.

The story features Ace and Zara locked in a prison on a former penal colony where the punishment for crimes is to have your entire memory wiped, so they forget everything they are and were. It's a terrifying concept and it's played very well by the two leads who take turns telling their stories.

Overall, this is a solid and entertaining Companion Chronicle. It doesn't require listening to the Key2Time saga to understand what's going on and does work as a stand-alone, though it does serve to promote the Key 2 Time story so that listeners can find out Zara's ultimate fate.

This for me was hard work, I was not a fan of the original Key to Time sequence of stories that were in the main range, and this acts as sort of supplementary additional release, prequel style. It is a dialogue with 90% of it being retold by Laura Doddington or Zara, the, sentient created android that appears in the Key 2 Time, there are names checks to the other characters from these within this release. It sort of fills in the gaps, but, due to it's very heavy dialogue told both in recollection and the present, it is I found hard to "get into" the story and the actual themes it is trying to portray. It therefore was not a hit with me. Even Sophie seems to be almost tired in her style of acting in this.

Poor Sophie, lumbered with this awful hammered in plot linking it to the key2time series. Sophie's piece was better than Laura's, but then I didnt really take to the tracers idea it was a bit too much like the New Adventures novels, where we had compassion as a walking talking TARDIS...not my thing really
