The first half of this story is an excellent mystery piece centered around The Doctor hunting down The Master's TARDIS after his apparent demise. Also in pursuit of The Master are factions of bounty hunters and The Master's "children" who each have their own agendas. If you were looking for an epic performance from Beavers you may be disappointed that he is absent for much of the tale but I thought the tension and looming shadow built up his eventual appearance fantastically.

Unfortunately, the pacing of the story fizzles in the second half and by the time it picks back up I had mostly lost interest. The Master's scheme itself was good but there is a massive lull during an extended flashback explaining how his children came under his control that didn't fit well and ultimately watered down the final product.

Others have complained about the dragonfly alien voices being annoying. I didn't find them particularly unique or fitting for a bug creature but they weren't terrible, either. Maybe I'm a bit more forgiving since I see it as a case of Big Finish only having so many tools in their SFX toolbox and most of the aliens tend to blend together anyway.

Overall it's a decent story but nothing particularly noteworthy.

This did not do a lot for me, it was very confused. I was bored waiting for Beevers to show up as he's my favourite master

The master's kids were interesting and it should have focused on that angle.

Thoroughly enjoyed this one, although expectations were let down a little because going in to this story, I was expecting a creepy Master story, where he crawls his way into a devious scheme. However thats only a basic plot point in the later half of the story. The story of the Doctor trying to recover the Master's TARDIS, the alien bouty hunters hunting the Master. It's all great setup, very much looking forward the rest of "The Master trilogy" :)

Upon re-experiencing this story, I found it much worse off than I remembered. Poor performances from the supporting cast, the nearly-unbearable voice effects for the minor antagonists, and really REALLY akward dialogue.
