A popular writing prompt says you should make your characters do what they would never do. I can't help but wondering if writer Stephen Fewell had that prompt when he wrote this story as he takes Turlough back to the same type of school he'd attended before he joined the Doctor (although in space), as the Doctor works underground as the groundskeeper.

The story has a great sense of style, mixing in a bit of social commentary on British with a solid mystery. The aliens are clever. The characterizations and descriptions are rich and Mark Strickson is a good narrator.
