The finale of Series 4 begins as a crazy romp as Iris and Panda head to a big recording studio when they hear an ear worm jingle they can't get out of their head. Who's behind it? A fanatical homicidal lift (elevator my fellow Americans and I) with delusions of grandeur and hero worship. Their only a music promoter targeting tween stars who is quite literally tone deaf. The story works right up until then when it ends as seriously as a heart attack with Iris wallowing in self-hatred. It's a very quick change of tone that's a bit stunning and hard to wrap your head around. On the other, it does answer questions as to why future Iris did at the end of the previous series finale and the story is enjoyable for it's zanier moments.
