India is always a highly evocative setting for a story, and it comes to life beautifully in this tale. Both the bustle of Calcutta as well as the eeriness of the scenes in the temple are conjured up with lovely detail. The story is very well-paced, never rushed, yet with a constant flow of new developments and ideas to engage the listener.

Mark Morris gets the characters of the 10th Doctor and Donna absolutely spot on, giving them lots of meaty dialogue that feels very much in keeping with their Tv appearances. The interaction between the Doctor, Donna and Mohandas Ghandi is handled particularly well, which really adds to the overall story.

David Troughton, as always, is a joy to listen to, which also helps towards making this such a successful entry in the BBC audiobooks series.
