What to say about this episode, there is nothing i like about it, the story itself it so stupid for example, the scribble creature, why did they think that would be a good idea. the acting from Chloe Webber and the mom weren't good either. i think the only positive to this episode was the end credits, that's how bad this was.

My rating: 5.5/10

This is the worst episode of David Tennant's brilliant era as the 10th Doctor. It features 10 and Rose arriving in London in 2012 to see the Olympic games only to encounter an alien menace which has been latching onto a disturbed young girl and causing other children to disappear.

Compared to a lot of the dross on TV this is perfectly fine but by the high standards of this wonderful show it is disappointing. The plot is fine and there are unsettling 'scary' scenes so this could have either been a very scary and dark episode or a cleverly balanced mixture of scares and fun. In the way it is actually put together it ends up a bit of a jarring mismatch of some fun and good humour with dark and scary parts which have not been put together as a satisfying whole. The guest cast are mostly poor in their performances, there is a lot of cheesiness, especially in regard to the Olympics and how it is badly incorporated into this story and there has not been sufficient care in creating the episode.

There is some good work from Tennant and Billie Piper with good humour and decent scenes but a lot of the episode feels low quality for this show.

Trollip.
It does nothing with its potential and the cast is annoying.
I’m afraid even love and monsters is more watchable in comparison.

It’s just the poorest new who I think.

This story suffers from many things: an uninspired guest cast (exception: Abdul Salas as the obsessed city worker,) a poorly executed plot, difficulty in finding the right tone for the story, it's similarity to an early Series 2 episode (The Idiot's Lantern,) and numerous moments to celebrate Britain getting to host the 2012 Olympiad that come off as a bit cheesy.

However, what saves the story is the two leads. The Doctor is good in this story despite a few awkward moments in the first ten minutes, but this story is one of Rose's strongest Series 2 episodes and she really is the best part of this episode. In addition, the core story isn't a bad idea. It's just clumsily executed.
