This story makes for an excellent pairing with the original 1963 episode An Unearthly Child. The Doctor returns Ian, Vicki and Barbara right back to where they began to find the city frozen in time yet right after the Kennedy assassination which arguably had a negative result on the original airing of the broadcast pilot. Everything has stopped similar to the Twilight Zone episode "A kind of a stopwatch".

Ripe with rich character development this is a must listen for anyone whom enjoyed the broadcast pilot. A fantastic bang of an opening story for series 2 of Short Trips.

A beautifully evocative story that has the Doctor returning Ian and Barbara to the day after they left only to find the world frozen, thus giving us a snapshot in time. Overall, this is a great character story from Barbara, and it's a great place for a snapshot as it comes right after the Kennedy assassination. William Russell turns in a solid performance and brings each character to life. The sound effects really make this a gorgeous story to listen to.

I really liked this story, but it seems strange that Barbara could walk for a long time but then could hear Ian or Vicki calling for her. That might be explainable but it really jarred my listening which marred my experience. Other than that, this was a wistful short and would have rated higher.
