Synopsis
Stewart Bevan was born into a Welsh family in Southall, Middlesex. Leaving school at 15, he joined a local amateur dramatic company. In 1966, he won “Best Actor” award in a drama festival at the Questers Theatre near Ealing Studios. This spurred him on to become a professional actor.
During his highly successful career, he’s appeared in feature films (including Brannigan, The Ghoul and The House of Mortal Sin), on television (Blake’s 7, Emmerdale, Silent Witness, Shoestring and The House of Elliot) and on stage (Deathtrap, Conduct Unbecoming, Taming of the Shrew and Under Milk Wood).
To Doctor Who fans, he is best known for portraying Clifford Jones in The Green Death … the man who stole Jo Grant’s heart away from The Doctor! Indeed, it is Katy Manning (aka Jo Grant) herself who interviews Stewart in this unique Myth Makers, uncovering more of his wide-ranging talents.
