This seems like a story with a premise that could have worked, but the final produce is not very good at all. The idea of Benny arranging an archaeological dig as a flimsy cover to give her the opportunity to visit a giant shopping mall sounds like it could be the beginning of an amusing comic adventure. Unfortunately, the premise is the best thing about the story.

I think it would have helped if the script had given us the backstory about the Borvali, the Partition, and the war much earlier in the story. As it is, the crisis seems to come out of nowhere, and it's easy to feel lost when the characters are referring to things that they know that haven't been mentioned before. But the problems go deeper than that.

The supporting characters aren't very strong, and the villains against aren't very strongly motivated. As in "The Extinction Event", characters have done something really horrible just for a bit of money. It's not unrealistic, but it dramatically unsatisfying. It's such an easy motivation that it's mentioned and then dropped, as though it's only there to fulfill the tedious requirement that the villain have a motivation. There's at least some muddled suggestion of social satire at work here. The idea is that the bad guys are doing to humans what humans are happy to do with "lesser" animals, like cows. It's basically an underdeveloped re-hash of what Robert Holmes was trying to do with "The Two Doctors", but you need a Shockeye character to make it work, and Joggon is no Shockeye.
