I found Mark superb, he drove this story from start to finish, I also liked the performance Alex Lowe as the novelisation alien within this, I also liked the idea of this short story outing as the sandy haired Doctor's assistance does a battle of conscious with himself pitted against the Doctor stalwart values of fairness and non violence even in the face of obvious tyranny. The way that the two actors play out the values of whether Turlough is right or the Doctor, makes for an entertaining hour of audio Who. Mark is accomplished and the performance is like loading a gun and pulling a trigger for him, he does not really have to try, it is quintessentially the easiest performance of any of the companions bar the ones from the first or second ones which are sublime. Magrs as written a nice little story here, whether or not it goes onto long, and stretches out the the whole thing is down to ones personal taste. Not bad, and I did enjoy Mark's performance as always.

Ringpullworld is a solid story featuring the companion Turlough in an alternate universe planning to free an entire universe trapped in a bubble but the Doctor is against it! To top it all off, Turlough is stuck dealing with a novelizer who is narrating his life. (A convenient alien for these Companion Chronicles, if I do say so.) This is a good story which gives Turlough his due. It does try and have an ambiguous ending by offering three potential endings, but it really doesn’t work because only one ending could fits the continuity of what we know happened to Turlough after this story. Still, this was interesting hour of audio entertainment.

A rather boring story that I felt didn't add anything to Turlough's character, which made the concept of the Companion Chronicle a bit redundant.

I didnt like the framing device or the Idea of the Biographers (although they did work as an audio idea) I would rather have had this a freebie and FREAKSHOW as the 4.5.
