This story builds on the ideas in the previous one as Lieutenant Sam Bishop returns from leave and begins to be suspicious about U.N.I.T.'s response to the disappearances and energy spikes or lack of a response. It quickly becomes apparent that the Silence made the U.N.I.T. that took action had their memory wiped by the Silence and so they have to re-uncover everything they found before.

At first glance, this would seem a recipe for a retread of the previous story. Yet, we get something very different. Writer John Dorney manages to keep the script fresh with some stylistic choices as well as a shift in focus as we hone in on the nature of the Silents conspiracy and see some political moves underway in regards to it. This is a thrilling and exciting script that carries the momentum from the first story forward.
