It's not perfect, it's just quite good. The characters are forgettable and even the Doctor became boring at one moment. There's only space battle here and the best part is when it's set on Gallifrey.

The War Doctor is very very boring with all these 'I am not the Doctor' stuff. He only wear the shame of the war on his shoulders and the plot didn't help him. He investigate on a mysterious weapon of the Daleks and everything end in an epic battle.

Cinder is the companion of the story and the suspens to learn her real name was perhaps the only intersting thing of her character. Shad that we didn't seen her much because she could've been more develloped.

The Daleks are like every Daleks we've meet in every others stories: evil. Rassilon and Borusa are perhaps the best characters because they aren't only evil. And poor Borusa, even after the Five Doctor, he didn't deserve that !

The plot is weak and the only interesting moment it's when it's set on Gallifrey. The story is memorable only because we can see more of the war Doctor but quickly he became uninteresting. The suportings characters don't have the time to be develloped because they die quickly.
I hope we'll have something better for the war Doctor in the novel medium because that's not 'an epic novel featuring the war Doctor' that's a basic novel who could have been made with any others Doctor.
