Synopsis
BBC Writersroom interviews Being Human writer and creator, Toby Whithouse.
This interview was recorded in 2012
Toby talks about how his training as an actor informs his approach to writing and how there isn't a single line of dialogue he's written that he hasn't said aloud first. He describes how Being Human started with a brushstrokes idea - a werewolf, a vampire and a ghost share a house - when he then boiled down to characters.
He talks about how writing on No Angels made him realise the importance of research, and that the best way of learning to write, is ... by writing.
