There just seems to be no logic to the village set up. So many of the weird things that create the mystery of the village make no sense. Why mark the coins or make a calendar if you don’t make them properly.

The end is also disappointing, Harry is wasted and not given a decent scene. The bacteria that should have destroyed the world just make one Kraal a snotty face.

Overall it’s a cool idea and some good mystery that aren’t well justified or explored within the story

A very underrated gem from the Tom Baker era, thoroughly enjoyed this one. Great to see another Terry Nation script that isn't Dalek themed. It's such a pity that it is overlooked by the two stories around it (Pyramids and Morbius), when in my opinion, they are both weaker stories than Androids. Great fun, last hoorah for Sgt Benton and Harry Sullivan.
Very much recommend this one :)

The story is good for the strong performance of Tom Baker and Liz Sladen but also is a a weaker installment in the midst of this strong era as it was the second story in the same season to deal with replicants replacing people (the far better Terror of the Zygons.) Still, there are some tense moments as well as a few very funny ones. Despite some uneven moments and a fairly forgettable alien enemy, there are some good performances and solid directing that makes the story watchable.

The Doctor and Sarah arrive in a village where the village and UNIT are acting strange. Wonderful story has to be in m top Ten classic episodes. Very surprised by its poor reviews it really has everything.
