Despite its 10 episode length it rarely drags and pads on the plot (although there are a lot of capture and recapture scenes to chew on) and really represents how a regeneration story should be handled. Troughton and his companions put on an excellent performance and of course Philip Madoc is exuberant and chilling as the War Lord (Steve Jobs apparently)

Aside from the sort of misplaced Primords, this is an excellently crafted story which explores a very deep and interesting concept.

All the actors are amazing although the character of Stahlmann falls under the unfortunate stereotype of the hot-headed stubborn businessman who doesn't really have much of a motive for continuing his plans other than hot-headedness which unfortunately means his character doesn't get much development as a result. Even so, I still enjoy the story very much and still enjoy Stahlmann's character as well as everyone else's.

I'd have to agree that Episode 1 is much better than the other episodes, although I actually have a soft spot for them. The characters' motivations are slightly confusing even considering their primitive nature and it's easy to get sick of the grunts and primitive language. Overall I like it as an episode but definitely could be improved, especially the last 3 episodes.

Perhaps the strangest Doctor Who story I've seen so far. It's a crazy mishmash of random plot elements and characters almost like a soup rather than a script. It would have worked as a simple Cyberman episode but all the randomness that goes on makes it confusing and hard to watch for me personally. The saying 'less is more' could not be more applicable in this situation.
