Now this is bad, worst main range story since the Silurian Candidate and very disappointing from the usually reliable Scott Handcock.
UNIT are ultra antagonistic for, well I don't know really because the story needs them to be as far as I can tell, if they hadn't been pretty much the whole first episode could have been skipped because there's not much else there.
At the end of episode 2, two characters quite calmly talk about cutting up the Doctor and shooting people in the head but that's instantly forgotten about and then episode 3 tries to redeem them with a - she did it for a good reason all along plot twist but it falls utterly flat and by that point I had lost all interest.
Davison tries but surrounded by supporting characters who are either unlikeable or utterly bland in a story that just plods along even he can't salvage it. Maybe if Tegan had been there the whole thing might have livened up a bit!
