A well-done performance with the scene of Holmes' being reunited with Watson particularly effective. As a story, and as a straight adaptation (such as this one is), it comes off as less dramatic. After all the intrigue of, "The Final Problem," we're treated to Holmes leading Watson to see a trap sprung that's he's already set, plus Briggs' Holmes come off as almost insufferably smug (though this may have been true to how Doyle saw the character at this point.) Still, a solid adaptation of the story.
