Zoe Herriot remembers everything and she remembers nothing about every time travelling with the Doctor but the mysterious company from Echoes of Grey has Zoe imprisoned and are threatening to have her executed unless she reveals the secret to time travel-secrets she's long forgotten. However, the Company has a record of one of her travels with the Doctor into 1919 Uzbekistan where a mysterious creature was kidnapping children.

This is a story that has elements of a historical but also has sci fi elements like modern Doctor Who stories that are set in the past. However, the most interesting part is the one with Zoe telling the story and the listener not quite sure who to believe. This episode plenty of room from suspense and a lot of excitement over what the next chapter holds as we get an insight into Zoe as a character and all that she lost and it's not just her memories of the Doctor. This production left me wanting more. Highly recommended.

How odd that you can be fascinated by the story of older Zoe but not be overly fussed by the story from the past she has to tell. I appreciate you can't have one without the other, but our narrator is a wonderful character, I can't wait to hear more from her.

A strong companion chronicle that enhances its era. The story told is interesting with a moral dilemma for Zoe, and the framing sequence, showing her post doctor life is threatened by those who would exploit her buried knowledge of time travel, really works. Excellent- bring on the resolution of this!
