If the character of SJS had not been brought into the new series with the episode "School Reunion", we might have had a conclusion to this story. But since she was, BF were not able to continue the story. A great shame. This is the climax to a great series and it is awesome!
Decent start to the first Dalek Empire series, but lacks clarity in setting up its back story. Setting up this story was always going to be a tough job. Listening to The Genocide Machine before this series is helpful, but not essential.
Probably deserves 3.5 as the first half of this story is very good and the end is great but just couldn't quite keep up the standard all the way through. That aside this is a good climax to the first series.
The second season continues with another run of the mill story. Still worth a listen but as with the rest of the second season not Benny at her best. That aside Lisa Bowerman, Miles Richardson and the rest of the cast do put in great performances.
Difficult one to review... There are some parts that are better than others but on the whole nothing worth writing home about. Some of this story seemed to me to be a bit contrived. For me this should be well down the wants list.
You will either like this or hate it. Not Benny at her best but a very enjoyable story. Some of the twists are fairly obvious and signposted but if you try not to overthink and work out what is happening it's a decent enough story.
